Blitzkrieg, Free France, and the Resistance
The German Blitzkrieg crushes Poland in September 1939, then France in May-June 1940. Marshal Pétain signs the armistice, but General de Gaulle refuses to accept defeat and delivers his famous June 18 appeal from London. Jean Moulin unifies the Resistance movements by creating the National Council of the Resistance in 1943. These events form the core of the quiz's easy and medium-level questions.
The Eastern Front and the Pacific Theater
