Instead of trying to name 200 capitals at once, pick your continent and race against the clock. French or English names accepted, accents optional, live leaderboard.
Why a challenge per continent?
Naming all ~200 capitals of the world in a single game is long and a bit frustrating. By splitting things up by continent, each challenge fits into 10-12 minutes — perfect for playing on your commute, on a coffee break, or for cramming a whole region at once. You can specialize (the African capitals you know less well) or run through all 4 to cover the entire world.
How does it work?
You type a capital's name, and it's validated as soon as your entry is recognized. Accents, hyphens, spaces, and capitalization are all ignored: addisababa, Addis-Ababa, or ADDIS ABABA all work. Only capitals count — an upcoming challenge will cover the countries of the world separately.
French or English, both work
For every capital, both the French names (Pékin, Moscou, Le Caire) and English names (Beijing, Moscow, Cairo) are accepted. Same goes for local-language names when they're well known (Roma, Warszawa, Wien). The idea: reward knowledge, not exact spelling.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why 47 capitals in Europe, not 44 or 50?
We use the 47 member countries of the Council of Europe, plus Belarus, Kosovo, and the Vatican — for a total of 47 recognized or widely recognized states. The Vatican and the micro-states (Monaco, San Marino, Andorra, Liechtenstein) count: their capitals are well known.
What about transcontinental countries (Russia, Turkey)?
Moscow and Ankara are counted among the capitals of Europe (by political convention, Russia and Turkey are members of the Council of Europe). They're not included in the Asia challenge, to avoid duplicates.
What about Bolivia, which has two capitals?
Sucre is the constitutional capital, and La Paz is the seat of government. On Quizoland, La Paz is the expected answer (the better-known one), but Sucre is also accepted as an alias.
What about Oceania?
